Create Your First Podcast Project

  1. Click “New Project” - Find the button in your dashboard
  2. Add Details - Enter project name and description
  3. Save & Continue - Your project is ready!

Success Indicator: You see your new project in the dashboard


What: Navigate to the project creation interface

How:

  1. Log in to your episode.io account
  2. From your dashboard, click the ”+ New Project” button (top right)
  3. The project setup modal will appear

Expected Result: You see a form asking for project details


What: Fill in your project information

How:

  1. Project Name: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., “My Weekly Podcast”)
  2. Description: Add a brief description of your show
  3. Category: Select the most relevant category from dropdown
  4. Privacy: Choose public or private (defaults to private)

Common Issues:

  • Problem: Project name already exists
    • Solution: Try a more specific or unique name

Expected Result: Form is completed with your project information


What: Save your project and start using it

How:

  1. Review your settings for accuracy
  2. Click the “Create Project” button
  3. Wait for the success confirmation message
  4. You’ll be automatically redirected to your project dashboard

Expected Result: You’re in your new project’s workspace with empty episode list


Issue: “Create Project” Button Not Visible

Symptoms: Can’t find the create project button on dashboard Cause: May be on wrong page or account permissions issue Solution:

  1. Navigate to main dashboard (click logo)
  2. Verify you’re logged in (check profile icon)
  3. Refresh the page if needed
  4. Check if you’ve reached project limits (upgrade may be needed)

Symptoms: Error message appears after clicking create Cause: Network issue or server problem Solution:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Try again in a few minutes
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies
  4. Contact support if problem persists

  • Naming Convention: Use descriptive names that make projects easy to find later
  • Organization: Consider prefixes for multiple shows (e.g., “TechTalk: Episode Series”)
  • Categories: Choose categories that match your content for better organization
  • Collaboration: You can invite team members after creation via project settings

A: Yes! Go to Project Settings → General → Edit Name. Note that this won’t affect any published episodes.

A: Depends on your plan. Free accounts get 3 projects, Pro accounts get unlimited projects.

Q: Can I delete a project if I make a mistake?

A: Yes, but be careful! Go to Project Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Project. This cannot be undone.
